Notes by RWF:

Any railroad's Observation Car is of course mostly enjoyed for its fine views of passing scenery.

Having a small library on board the train is welcome especially during night passages through dark and empty countryside, or for reference and entertainment anytime. The convenient barber, bath facilities, and clothes-pressing service which also are provided in the Northern Pacific Railway's Observation-Library Car are most useful on a multi-state trip when one wants to leave the train in good order for immediate business or society, before going to one's hotel or meeting one's hosts in the destination city.
